Who else has been feeling the stress lately? With Who else has been feeling the stress lately?

With a sprinkle of election nerves earlier this month, a dash of holiday stress coming up, and a splash of covid anxiety we are all in need of some serious self care. [ad]

Here is my daily mini self care ritual:

- Breath work in the AM: It doesn’t take much. I love the breath of fire to get things going.
- Green tea: There’s something about the cooler air and the dark mornings that makes it hard to wake up. I’ve been needing the caffeine, which I don’t love to admit. I stick with organic sencha green tea.
- Force Reishi to snuggle with me: My love language is physical touch, so she gives me my fix plus a few licks 🙂
- 20 minutes of yoga each day: 20 minutes is my minimum goal. I like doing this mid day as a work break.
- 5 minutes of foam rolling: recovery is huge for me as the temps drop and I spend more time indoors. Let’s be honest, I’m not being as active so stiffness happens more often and I have to stay on top of it.
- CBD roller on targeted areas: After foam rolling #nourishyouryoga. I’ve recently been using @omnourish Roll On Freeze Therapy CBD +. It smells like a spa and is soft and cooling on the skin. I use a thin layer on my neck and shoulders, especially that trap/rhomboid (um, yet please!). This is part of their kit which includes Curcumin Defense (supports a health inflammatory response) and Hydration Infusion (fab trace minerals. I use this instead of sports drinks. It can be a little salty so I like a spritz of lemon with it).
- Journal: I love journaling at the end of my day after using CBD so the calm settles in and I can just bran dump all of the emotions and thoughts. And then put the pen down and put all of that to rest for the evening. I have a special journal and pen dedicated for this purpose only.
- Shut it down: With days getting shorter, I try not to push it. After journaling I shut off my “work” brain for the day and get into potato mode. Enter Reishi snugs — by this point she’s already demanding is 😀

"When you’re 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 with your mental health, 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 is often the 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 thing on your mind. At least, I know that’s the case for me. I struggle with symptoms of depression, anxiety, and unresolved trauma, and on my bad days, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘪𝘴 move.⁣

But recently, I’ve found that 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 movement really can help alleviate my symptoms (𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦) if I can convince myself to do it. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘴, actual exercise is often out of the question for me. So 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥, I focus on 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲..." (𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄: 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘰)⁣

The last Mercury Retrograde of 2020 ends on November 3, coinciding with our election day. 

If you've felt like this year has been wild, tumultuous, and crazy... it's been in the stars.

Pay close attention to how people are communicating right now, and keep this awareness as you navigate your relationships with others and your personal relationship with yourself, as well as when you cast your vote.

The shadow of this retrograde will last about 5 months bringing our rage to the surface, which we will struggle to express. There may be a great public pushback post election.
